Hello April! Sunshine is in the air, Easter is on the horizon and there’s so much to see and do near Siesta Key. From film festivals to egg hunts to boat shows, there’s something for everyone this spring. Read below for some of our favorite upcoming events.
24th Annual Sarasota Film Festival - April 1 - 10
One of the year’s biggest events is finally here! The 24th Annual Sarasota Film Festival emphasizes the best in cinema alongside exciting programs and events, with more than 200 films screened each year including features, documentaries, shorts, and kid-friendly picks. Festival events include socially-driven parties and private receptions to honor guest filmmakers, community-wide street festivals, and the black-tie Filmmakers Tribute Dinner. Check it out before April 10.
36th Annual Run for the Turtles - April 2
Run, walk or crawl over to the Siesta Key Public Beach on Friday, April 2 for the 36th Annual Run for the Turtles sponsored by Mote Marine. This family-friendly 5K race supports Mote's sea turtle and spectators are welcome and occurs from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 a.m. Registration includes a complimentary race t-shirt, access to the food station, kids activities area & more!
Siesta Key Easter Egg Hunt - April 16
The Annual Siesta Key Easter Egg Hunt at Turtle Beach is on Saturday, April 16 from 9 am until noon. Your kiddos will enjoy photos with the Easter Bunny, games, prizes, a coloring station, and more! Turtle Beach is approximately 2.3 miles south of Stickney Road on Midnight Pass Road. The event is limited to 200 children so make sure to register beforehand. The egg hunt begins at 9 am.
Acoustic Sunsets at The Ringling - Sundays from April 13 - May 11
Relax and enjoy the Bayfront Gardens at The Ringling for Acoustic Sunsets with a solo musician on Ca' d'Zan Terrace! Watch the sun set on beautiful Sarasota Bay as a solo or duo musical group performs acoustic music. Food and beverages will be available and tickets are $15 each. Be sure to purchase your tickets beforehand.
38th Annual Suncoast Boat Show - April 22 - 24, 2022
Get your cameras ready for the 38th Annual Suncoast Boat Show at downtown Sarasota's Bayfront Marina from April 22 - 24. Enjoy 100s of watercraft on display including boats, yachts, cruisers, runabouts, bowriders, and much more. Food, drinks, and music are also available.
