Siesta’s bike path starts at the south end on Midnight Pass Road and goes up to the North Bridge. It’s a very safe, refreshing and enjoyable way to see the area. You can also choose from a variety of boat rentals, including kayaks, wave runners and motorboats. Always obey the No Wake Zone and you might be rewarded with the moon face of a manatee staring up at you in wonder.
No matter your taste in cuisine, the cafés and restaurants here are sure to please your palate. For fun, casual fare, try Captain Curt’s, Siesta Key Oyster Bar, The Big Water Fish Market for the freshest catch, Pi 3.14 for pizza and Turtle’s for breathtaking views of the Intracoastal waterway. And don’t forget homemade ice cream at Olaf’s. You can even leave the car behind and take a free ride on the Siesta Key Breeze Trolley or one of the many other free ride offerings. For a more formal dinner, choose from an array of higher end restaurants, all offering exceptional gourmet cuisine, like Miguel’s French Cuisine, Ophelia’s On the Bay or fabulous drinks and meal at Flavio’s.
