How are resort fees charged and what is included?

Resort fees are charged at 15.00 per day per room plus required taxes. Resort fees include complimentary use of the following:

Coffee, tea, lemonade, cookies, hot cocoa, popcorn, in-room DVDs, pool towels, fold-up beach chairs, wi-fi, daily housekeeping and (1) parking space per room. Resort fees are per room (not per person).

How do I check beach conditions?

When it comes to family beach spots, nothing tops Siesta Beach in Sarasota – gradual slopes, shallow waters, gentle waves, fine white sand and translucent waters.

It continually makes several of America’s Top 10 lists of best beaches based on sand, water quality and facilities. In 2017 and 2019 it was ranked the #1 beach in the Nation by Dr. Beach. We have direct beach access to Crescent Beach, which is a private beach, and offers the same beautiful white sand and crystal blue waters.

How many rooms are there?

There are a total of 88 units located within seven buildings. All rooms are located in Sara Sea Circle on the South end of Siesta Key.  We do not have any rooms with connecting doors. All rooms offer a garden view (not a gulf view). Each room has its own outdoor table and two chairs.

Do you allow pets?

Pets are not permitted to stay at the hotel.  If you are traveling with a service dog please contact the hotel prior to arrival. Service dogs should not be left unattended in your room at any time.

What can we bring to the beach?

Towels, chairs, umbrellas, and coolers are allowed on the beach.  Tents and Cabanas are prohibited from use on the private beach area to allow room for all guests.  Glass containers, cigarettes, and pets are prohibited on both public and private beaches.

How are you handling Covid-19?

We ask all guests to wear masks when entering the lobby and to limit one person per party when registering.  All of our rooms are cleaned upon each check-out using industry recognized cleaning products paying special attention to high touch point areas such as remotes, refrigerator, stove and door handles.  We are not currently performing daily maid service but will perform a maid service on the third day of your stay.  We are always just a phone call away if you need anything in your room, extra towels, toiletries, trash removal, etc.  Do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything at all and we will happily bring your requested items to your room.

Do your rooms have patios or balconies?

All of our rooms have exterior corridors and their own private parking spot.

There are not patios per se; however, there is a covered overhang over every room, and a bistro table and two comfortable patio chairs that encourages you to sit outside of your room to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

How far are you from the beach?

Tropical Beach Resorts is located about 150 yards from the World famous Crescent Beach! There are no roads to cross to get to the beach. There is a direct beach access from the edge of our hotel.

All rooms offer a garden view, not a beach view. We are located at the Shores of World Famous Crescent Beach just steps from the World’s whitest finest sand of Siesta Key.

Are you on the same side of the street as the beach?

Yes, we are on the same side of the street as the beach and there are no roads to cross to get to the sand. Are you “beachfront?” No, we are not beachfront, nor can you see the water from any of our rooms.

What are the views like?

Most of our rooms offer lush, tropical garden views. There are no water views from any of our rooms.

What is your cancellation policy?

Tropical Beach Resorts offers a FREE 3 day prior to arrival cancellation policy anytime after a reservation is made and guaranteed with a deposit.  If cancellation occurs within the 3 days prior to your arrival, the guaranteed deposit is non-refundable. What is the deposit amount required to guarantee a reservation? A deposit of one night room and tax is required to secure reservation dates.

When is the balance due

Payments for remaining balances are due upon arrival at the hotel. We can not accept cash or checks. Payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or U.S. Travelers Checks.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For an advance reservation we accept: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover Card. We are unable to accept cash or checks as a form of payment for accommodations.

Is a credit card required?

A credit card is required by the registered guest at a check in.  What is the minimum rental age for the hotel? Guests occupying rooms at the hotel must be over the age of 25  or with their parents in the same room.

Do you have DVD players?

Every room is equipped with a DVD player and iPod docking station. Complimentary movies are available at the front office.

What is your check-in time and checkout time?

Check-in time is after 3:30pm, and checkout time is 10am. Early arrivals are welcome to use the facilities of the resort such as the beach and the pool, after 1pm. Late checkouts can be requested on the day of departure with the front desk. If we are unable to accommodate a late checkout request, you are always welcome to use the beach and pools after checkout please check with the front office for availability.

What is red tide?

A red tide is a higher-than-normal concentration of a microscopic alga (plant-like organisms). In Florida, the species that causes most red tides is Karenia brevis.

This organism produces a toxin that can affect the central nervous system of fish. At high concentrations (called a bloom), the organisms may discolor the water. However, red tides are not always red. They can appear greenish, brownish, and even purple in color. The water can even remain its normal color during a bloom. Is it safe to swim during a red tide bloom?

Red tide can cause some people to suffer from skin irritation and burning eyes and respiratory discomfort. Use common sense. If you are particularly susceptible to irritation from plant products, avoid red tide water. If you experience irritation, get out of the water and thoroughly wash. Do not swim among dead fish because they can be associated with harmful bacteria.

Registration and security information

Upon registration a major credit card, and photo ID are required. All vehicles are required to display a parking pass.

Key card locks and in-room safes are individually coded for optimal safety and privacy. If you are planning to arrive after 9:00 p.m. please contact the hotel directly for late night instructions and further registration details.

Do we need a car while staying at the resort?

No, not necessarily.

There are several shops and restaurants within walking distance, to name a few:

  • City Pizza
  • Claytons Siesta Grille
  • Big Water Fish Market
  • Daiquiri Deck
  • Toasted Mango
  • and more!

You will also find a 7-11, and a few places to enjoy nightlife within walking distance.

Siesta Village, where there are many more shops and restaurants, is approximately 3 miles north of us.

There is also a complimentary free trolley that collects across the street and runs up and down the island until 10pm nightly. There are also multiple free rides that operate like a taxi service and provides free rides (tips are appreciated) anywhere on the village 7 days per week from 10am-2am daily. On the mainland of Sarasota, you will find an abundance of restaurants, local and chain types, shopping centers, movie theaters and nightlife.

You can expect to drive between 5-15 minutes to reach any of these places in Sarasota. Uber and Lyft is also very popular on Siesta Key and Sarasota.

We only have one parking space for each room, additional guest parking passes can be added for a $15 charge and is based upon availability.  If you are traveling with more than one vehicle, please check the area for paid parking options as we cannot guarantee that each vehicle you bring can be parked here at the resort.
