According to the US Census Bureau, the Sarasota-Manatee region population is growing by leaps and bounds. The region is comprised of the areas of Bradenton, Sarasota, North Port and Venice.
The Sarasota-Manatee area saw its overall population expand from 768,013 to 788,457 — a boost of 20,444 residents, more than enough to populate a small city.
With so many reasons behind the growth, like stellar weather and high quality of life and happiness, it is an easy choice for people looking to relocate. Harboring world-class beaches and a top-shelf arts and culture scene. Sarasota was named the #3 Happiest Seaside Town by Coastal Living in 2017.
Finding affordable housing could sometimes be a challenge, but there are many projects in the works from local and national developers, the options are expanding. The city of Sarasota also has hired Steven Cover as its first formal planning director since the position was eliminated as a cash-strapped City Hall contracted during the economic downturn in 2008. He will start April 12, according to a news release.
