There are multiple waterfront parks in Sarasota where you and your dog can take a walk, enjoy the scenery, and even picnic by the water.
Bird Key Park:
Bird Key Park is right over Sarasota’s beautiful Ringling Bridge that takes you to Lido Key. You are right on the bay where you can watch the boats go by and maybe even see dolphins jumping!
Location: On the John Ringling Causeway – 101 Bird Key Dr, Sarasota, Florida
Ken Thompson Park
This park is great for the whole family! Your dog can hang with the family on a leash, the kids can play on the playground, and everyone can walk on the boardwalks through the mangroves and tidal marsh restoration areas. The board walk stretches out passing the shore so you can get a great view of Sarasota across the bay. Not to mention it’s one of the best spots in town to have a picnic on one of the many tables that line the water front.

Bay Front Park:
This Island Park is located on an island peninsula right on the water of
Sarasota Bay. Sidewalks line the water all around the park, making this the perfect spot for walking your dog while getting to take in the wonderful waterfront atmosphere Sarasota has to offer. Also, children absolutely love the water fountain play area and the huge playground. As an added plus to Bay Front Park, there are two waterfront restaurants, O’Leary’s Tiki Bar & Grill and Marina Jacks dockside.
